Animal Health Week September 30, 2012 – October 6, 2012

Each year during the first week of October, veterinarians and veterinary clinics across Canada celebrate Animal Health Week. This year’s theme is Preventive Veterinary Care…for the health of it! As part of this special week, Park Pet Hospital celebrates the animal / human bond by promoting not only animal health, but responsible ownership. Our technicians and doctors will be emphasizing the benefits of microchipping your pet as well as the importance of having an annual health check.

Unfortunately, pets sometimes wander away from their homes. Tattoos fade and tags are lost, but by having your pet microchipped – a permanent form of identification, you can make sure that they are easily identified and can get home faster. Your pet’s microchip not only allows shelters and clinics to identify them and contact you as the owner, but it also allows a clinic to get information regarding any medical conditions that may need treatment immediately.

An annual wellness exam establishes a baseline for your pet’s health. This is used to monitor your pet as it ages. Uncovering an illness early will help your pet live a long and healthy life. Along with an annual physical exam,  blood and urine tests will provide more information about the health of your pet.

In celebration of Animal Health Week, come into the clinic and enter our draw to win a gift basket.
